Audrey Hildes Schechter is an experienced commercial and civil litigator, working in the areas of fraud, qui tam, healthcare fraud, Medicare and Medicaid fraud, Tricare fraud, appellate practice, health care law, and employment litigation. Audrey has practiced in Florida for 25 years and in New York for several years, assisting clients and other lawyers in a wide range of litigation and appellate matters. She has collaborated with qui tam counsel, including Andrea Fischer, for many years. Both colleagues and clients rely on Audrey for her ability to dissect complex legal issues and present cohesive, understandable and strong arguments to advance her clients' positions. Audrey was recently recognized as a Florida Super Lawyer, an honor extended to only 5% of Florida lawyers.
Audrey is admitted to practice in the State of Florida, the Middle District of Florida, the Southern District of Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and New York State.
Ms. Schechter has participated in numerous successful qui tam matters. Highlights include successfully settling a claim involving Miami Dade County Transit Authority, trying a Medicare fraud case to a favorable verdict in the Middle District of Florida, and obtaining an attorney's fee award from a recalcitrant defendant following settlement of a False Claims Act case. Ms. Schechter has experience in a wide variety of qui tam litigation matters involving health care fraud resulting from illegal kickbacks, unsupervised procedures, and providing medically unnecessary services, as well as telemarketing scams and false claims resulting from for-profit schools' recruiting practices. Ms. Schechter has also briefed successful appeals, including achieving a reversal of summary judgment on a personal injury case.

Audrey has an A.B. from Washington University in St. Louis, and a J.D. from Boston University, where she won the book award for a course in professional responsibility and ethics, and served as Case & Note editor on The American Journal of Law and Medicine.
