Earlier this week, I had the privilege of participating in an interactive meeting between the Civil Fraud Assistant U.S. Attorneys for the Southern District of New York’s U.S. Attorney’s Office, and members of the Relators’ (whistleblowers’) Bar. In attendance were many of the movers and shakers of our Bar. We enjoyed an open exchange with the Assistant U.S. Attorneys regarding the many issues we face on a day-to-day basis in handling these cases. This meeting was a microcosm of the extensive public:private partnership that exists within our practice, and reaffirmed the vast good we can do as a team fighting fraud in all sectors of our Country, from healthcare to government contractor fraud and beyond. Meetings like this continue to excite us in our practice, and demonstrate the value in which the government holds our courageous clients. I am thankful for every opportunity to interact with these fine lawyers.
