We are thrilled to announce the $14,902,000.00 settlement we along with The DOJ, The State of Florida and The State of Minnesota obtained against Defendants Bluestone Physician Services P.A., Bluestone Physician Services Florida and Bluestone National LLC (collectively, “Bluestone”) for their alleged healthcare fraud in the assisted living and chronic care management space. Our brave whistleblower alerted her supervisor to the wrongful conduct and ended up lost her job as a result. The pleadings allege that Bluestone disregarded Medicare, Medicaid and Tricare rules and regulations in their medical treatment of residents of home healthcare facilities. The settlement resolves allegations that, during the period from Jan. 1, 2015, through Dec. 31, 2019, Bluestone knowingly submitted claims for two E&M codes, the domiciliary rest home visit code for established patients (99337) and the chronic care management code (99490), that did not support the level of service provided. This result supports our goals of reducing healthcare fraud that impacts this particularly vulnerable population of our Country.
