With so much difficult and complicated noise consuming our airwaves, the news of a helicopter taking off from Mars enthralled me and was a welcome relief. The incomprehensibility of this feat is awesome. It is amazing what results when very intelligent and intellectually curious people take on a new challenge. Forget about the actual accomplishment, which is enormous, but just the imagination to say “hey, let’s get a helicopter to fly on Mars and take pictures” is fantastic. The fact that our country produces these minds that achieve such great heights (pun intended) is a testament to the depths of our collective desire to achieve, and the inconceivable extent of our reach. My wish is that we all pause to consider this miraculous event.
