Exciting News in the Whistleblower Landscape

For the first time ever, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (“NHTSA”) resolved a whistleblower action brought under the Safety Act.  The complaint involved the failure of Hyundai Motor America (“Hyundai”) to report significant safety issues with and defects in Hyundai and Kia’s engines.  The whistleblower worked in the safety division.  For his actions, the NHTSA awarded the whistleblower a 30% share of the $81 Million cash settlement amount.  Through his actions, the whistleblower made our roads safer.  Visit the NHTSA’s press release to read more about this fantastic story and result, as well as to find helpful links for bringing a whistleblower action under the Safety Act.
